Here are some helpful suggestions on what to look for in a daycare.
How to choose a daycare

How to Potty Train your child.

Last year, we expanded our organic garden and the experience was amazing. Everyday it seemed we were picking something new. Beans, peas, carrots, tomatoes and corn were among the goodies we ate right off the vine.
This year will be ever better! We have already begun planting our garden.

Be sure to pack clothes for the summer season. Depending on the weather, we will be playing outside as much as we can! Your child will need all the things you would put on her/him when the weather is hotter(hat, sunscreen).

Books are always at the table along with other special skill teaching toys. And our monthly delivery of new titles as well as out expanding selection in our library make this first step in reading interesting and exciting. This is good individual time that is spent with the group. Here are some pictures from our readers from the library.

Daycare News!

It's summer and we'll be getting the garden ready and with any luck, the rain will give us a chance to do this and play!

Be sure to pack the clothes for the changing weather. We still have a few months of possible rain showers ahead of us before we start looking for summer. If it is dry enough to go out - and everyone is healthy enough - we'll be outside at every opportunity. The right clothes are important for your child's enjoyment of the outdoors.

The learning we do here is important not only for your child but for you as well.

Your child will be coming home with assignments for both of you to review. Please take the time to find out what your child has learned today, help them with any assignments, and read to them often. Together, we can make these children far more school ready than any other environment could.

In our big school they will learn letters and numbers, practice art in a variety of mediums, and discover new songs and music. This group is at the perfect age and, as close as these kids are, the experience becomes a shared one that makes a huge difference in the learning experience. I am looking forward to the next couple of years with these eager minds.

Having your child in daycare not only trains the child for school but the parents as well. While it is great to have a lazy morning, we do have projects that depend on your child being here. Please try to be consistent so the group can have their learning activities together.
Each year, I post a calendar of events which include day's off and vacation schedules, events and birthdays. Please keep it handy! This is should be used to plan your day's off and vacations as well - just like school.
Is your child ready for potty training?

In the summer, you need to pack clothes appropriate for spending time outdoors, running through sprinklers, playing at the water table, and generally enjoying the sunshine.

If your child happens to receive any immunization shots, I need to update my records as well.

Your child is entitled to receive the finest care available and I feel that our secure and loving daycare is that place.

I have developed a soft structured pre-preschool designed to nurture your child through arts and crafts, dance and music, with a group and on an individual basis
Free time allows the child to choose toys for play either by themselves or for play with others. It is an excellent sharing time.

A note about your child's health. If your child has a fever or anything CONTAGIOUS, please, for the sake of our tight little group, keep your child home. If you are unsure, call me and we will decide together. This is why a back-up emergency plan is so important. In a group this small, we could share the set of germs for months, as well as sharing with our families.
